Santechpribor Factory Revitalization

The assignment was to redesign the abandoned Santechpribor factory in Kazan, Russia. Our proposal is to reveal the old building footprints and use them as private and public open spaces - terraces, cafes, playgrounds.

With the use of debris found on site we preserve the place unique industrial history and identity. The lower levels are built from the red brick - traditional industrial material. The upper levels are clad with the glass blocks, another traditional element.This transparency keeps the comfortable urban scale in this new neighborhood.
